Mr. Mellor focuses his practice in the areas of construction litigation, commercial litigation, business disputes, and personal injury. His experience includes researching and drafting pleadings, as well as motions and briefs at all stages of litigation.
Mr. Mellor received his J.D. in 2018 from Duquesne University School of Law, where he focused his legal education on trial and appellate advocacy. As a member of both the Appellate Moot Court Team and the Trial Advocacy Team, he represented Duquesne Law in national and regional competitions throughout his law school career. Mr. Mellor put his advocacy skills to good use in his time with the Duquesne Law Veteran’s Court Clinic, where he had the opportunity to represent Veterans in criminal court with an eye toward treatment solutions. Upon graduating in 2018, Mr. Mellor received the Katie Elisabeth Westbrook Award for outstanding academic achievement with a focus on trial advocacy and was inducted into the Justice Louis L. Manderino Honor Society for excellence in courtroom advocacy.
While at Duquesne Law, Mr. Mellor also had the opportunity to serve as a Teaching Assistant to a new professor in Duquesne’s highly-ranked Legal Research and Writing Program. This opportunity afforded him the ability to work directly with first-year students to improve their legal research and writing skills and set them on a path to achieve more through their legal education.
